Preparation for Hedge-Planting

It is advantageous to spray off grass and weeds with Roundup, at least 4 weeks prior to planting.  Roots must not be allowed to dry out during the planting process.  The use of compost and fertilizer is certainly beneficial.  When planting bare-root trees, pay particular attention to depth of planting,  i.e. don’t plant deeper than the depth at which trees were grown in nursery.

For root-balled trees, the same preparation of soil applies.  Regular watering is beneficial and good fertilization is essential during the first year, as newly planted trees will not have sufficiently rooted in to provide adequate nourishment for normal growth.

Those who visit our Nursery can avail of our special offers throughout the season.

We welcome customers to visit our Nursery, to see the range and quality of plants on offer.

We also offer people the chance to select trees, while the leaves are still present, thus making it easier to select exactly what you want.

An order can be placed by payment of a deposit.  We will contact you when your trees are lifted and ready for dispatch.
